Since then I arrived at the NIH, I have met the most amazing group of people. Generally, they are compassionate and brilliant; they all have really interesting projects in which they are involved. The Fogarty Institute (one of the many institutes at the National Institutes of Health) has allowed the Doris Duke fellows to join their orientation, which was really gracious of them. We do feel a little like proverbial red-headed step children (we don’t get legit NIH IDs and our breakfast is more expensive), but we take comfort in Mama Doris. Post to follow on the bombshell who funded this fellowship!
